Public Health Vaccines proudly sponsors and endorses the One Health Initiative in its pro bono efforts to promote the One Health concept of a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to address all aspects of health care including emerging and zoonotic diseases. One Health is an integrated, collaborative approach that recognizes the deep interdependence between the health of people, animals, plants, and their shared environment.  It seeks to bridge human medicine, veterinary medicine, and the environmental sciences in surveillance, research, prevention, and control of zoonotic diseases with complex life cycles and is now established as a mainstream component of public health.  As of 2026, all priority diseases included on the WHO Blueprint list of Priority Diseases1 are zoonotic diseases which underscores the importance of the One Health approach.  Nipah virus disease, for which PHV is developing a vaccine, is a prime example of the need to coordinate veterinary, human, and wildlife disease experts to best address global health threats.  To learn more about the One health Initiative, please visit its website.
